Drontal Plus for dogs is an allwormer, recommended for the treatment and control of all gastrointestinal worms in dogs
Drontal is the only wormer to kill every type of intestinal worm commonly found in UK dogs which is why vets prescribe it more often than all other wormers put together!
Dogs in the UK may be infected with around a dozen different types of intestinal worm. It is not always easy to spot the symptoms, and as your vet will tell you, that's why it's best to use Drontal at least every three months to prevent any serious worm infection.

controls Toxocara, nursing bitches should be dosed 2 weeks after giving birth and every two weeks until weaning.
Controls adult dogs should be treated every 3 months. For routine treatment a single dose is recommended. In the event of heavy roundworm infestation a repeat dose should be given after 14 days.

Consult a veterinary surgeon before treating pregnant animals for roundworms.
Direction
Drontal allwormer is for oral administration only. 1 Drontal Plus Flavour Tablet per 10 kg bodyweight. The tablets can be given directly to the dog or mixed in food. No starvation is needed before or after treatment.
Treat puppies at 2, 4, 8, 12 weeks; then 4, 5, 6 months of age.
Treat adult dogs every 3 months (6 weeks in Hydatid infested locations).
Treat pregnant/lactating bitches at mating, then 10 days before whelping and at 2 and 4 weeks after whelping, then every 3 months.
Puppies and Small Dogs: 0.5-2kg Quarter tablet, 2-5kg 0.5 half tablet, 6-10kg 1 tablet.
Medium Dogs: 11-15kg 1.5 tablets, 16-20kg 2 21-25kg 2.5 tablets, 26-30kg 3 tablets.
Large Dogs: 31-35kg 3.5 tablets, 36-40kg 4 tablets.
Where infestation is particularly heavy or many dogs are housed together, a veterinary surgeon should be consulted.
Safety
Do not use in puppies under 2 weeks of age.
Should not be used in animals allergic to it.
Do not exceed recommended dose when treating pregnant bitches.
Do not use simultaneously with piperazine compounds.
The product is well tolerated in dogs. In safety studies doses of 5 x or greater gave rise to occasional vomiting.
In the interests of good hygiene, persons administering the tablets directly to the dog, or by adding them to the dog's food, should wash their hands afterwards.
Do not store above 25°C.
Protect from light.
Do not use after the expiry date.
Any part used tablets should be discarded.
Any unused or waste material should be disposed of in accordance with local requirements.
